Meet Our Team
Jay Vandroff is president of Yarnall Companies, overseeing day-to-day operations, providing customer support and managing internal sales functions. He attended Sarasota’s Prew Academy and Florida State University. Active in the community, Jay takes a special interest in outreach to young people, serving as a volunteer for organizations that include Girls, Inc., Children First and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast.
“As a native of Sarasota,” he says “I feel I have a good understanding of our area. I have watched our town grow while retaining a small-town feel. That same philosophy is at the core of Yarnall. We continue to expand our services, while maintaining a personal touch and strong dedication to customer satisfaction.”
Gina Vandroff is Yarnall’s chief financial officer, with responsibility for billing, collections and financial statements. Gina has a BS in Business Management from Eckerd College. A member of the Historical Society of Sarasota County and The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, she also has played integral roles in major moving trade organizations, including service as president of the Florida Movers and Warehousemen’s Association.
Gina has worked in the family business since 1969, “doing everything but driving a truck.” Currently, she says, she is grooming her son and daughter to take over all Yarnall operations.
Anita Vandroff is vice president of Yarnall Companies. She also serves as sales and facilitation coordinator for the Senior Relocations division. Anita, who has a BS in Communications and Fine Arts from the University of Florida, spent more than 30 years working in all aspects of customer service for a major airline before joining the family business. A native of Sarasota, she remains active in the local community.
Anita especially enjoys her role in our Senior Relocations unit, where she oversees the entire process from initial consultation and space planning to the actual move-in, helping reduce the stress of relocation for our older clients and their loved ones.
David A. Shay, Jr., serves as director of operations at Yarnall, scheduling and dispatching all local, intra-state and long-distance moves. He also has responsibility for the hiring and training of crew members for moving furniture and oversees all safety aspects of crew members and Yarnall moving vans, including weekly and monthly safety meetings.
David, who grew up in Michigan, moved to Florida shortly after his high school graduation and began a career in the relocation industry, first as a mover, then as a local driver/van foreman and then as a long-distance driver traveling throughout the United States. He joined Yarnall Moving Solutions in 1987, serving as a warehouse manager before his promotion to director of operations.
